As 2018 leaves the world to be replaced by 2019, reports from early celebration points like Australia noted that heavy thunderstorms and lightning drenched and delayed, or even cancelled the traditionally held New Years’ fireworks displays. But for a Kuwaiti pilot of an F/A-18 Hornet, the experience was much, much more personal.

EPA Approves Dangerous Monsanto-Made Weedkiller

On November 9, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved dicamba, a dangerously toxic herbicide designed by Monsanto for its next generation biotech soy and cotton varieties. [1]

The approval means that farmers will be able to use the new Xtendimax with Vapor Grip Technology formulation of dicamba to help control weeds in their crops that have become resistant to glyphosate and PPO (protoporphyrinogen oxidase inhibitors). [2]

Microplastics in the Ocean are Killing Baby Fish, Study Finds

Our seas are littered with plastic, and tiny bits of it are seriously threatening the environment, according to a study published in the journal Science. Researchers say microplastics – small plastic particles less than 5 millimeters in diameter – could be hurting the survival of European perch, as well as other creatures.
