Donald Trump continued his round of criticism for the aging North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) as he prepared for an upcoming trip to Europe that will culminate in a July 16th summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
As NATO gathered in Brussels, Belgium for a two-day summit, NATO’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stressed that although some differences exist between NATO and Russia, it must not lead to Russia’s isolation, as some in the alliance have called for.
Stoltenberg went on to say:
The European Union is committing to its policy of perceiving revolutionary determination as its course of legitimacy. Apparently, a referendum gaining nearly 100% popular support isn’t sufficient to qualify for the self determination of a region. Therefore, the EU will continue to consider the Crimea as politically a part of the Ukraine. This, of course, means that the EU has reason for its sanctions regime against Crimea, which it will be extending for yet another year.

Russian President Vladimir has said that a global balance of power is a necessity to ensure security and stability around the world.
During a meeting with Armed Forces commanders and defense industry executives on Tuesday, the Russian president lauded his country’s development of new weapons systems as deterrents.
One such new program is the S-500 surface-to-air anti-missile system which builds on the success of the S-400 system currently in use.
The Crimean Bridge, which will finally join mainland Russia from Krasnodarsky Krai, to the Kerch region of Crimea is about to be finished. The bridge spans the Kerch Strait, not far from the beautiful pink salt lakes.
