Both sides of the aisle can agree on this important thing — which has achieved a growing, bi-partisan, academic and popular consensus in the United States during the past four years.
It is this: the second biggest threat to peace on earth and to the global rule of law (right behind either Trump or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, depending on your affiliation) is the 2014 vote by the people of Crimea to re-join Russia.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced to members of the Sevastopol city government that the Crimean Republic is now fully integrated with the Russian economy, infrastructure, and judiciary. Additionally, many various upgrades of the Republic’s infrastructure were and are required, including roads, electrical grid, water supply systems, fuel supply networks, and transportation.

Sometimes it is possible to lose clear sight of the reality of politics because of the optics and all the “noise” associated with differing points of view. Russian President Vladimir Putin has hailed his summit with US President Donald Trump as a first step to clearing tensions between their two countries and denied any role in the 2016 presidential election.
“Of course, numerous problems persist, and we have failed to clear the backlog in full, it was impossible to do this, but I believe we have made the first important step in that direction,” he told reporters.

Russian president Vladimir Putin met his US counterpart Donald Trump with a slight advantage in Helsinki, Finland on Monday.
That would be a World Cup advantage.
Putin was in attendance at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow where in a dramatic finale to what many agree has been the most successful World Cup in years, France defeated Croatia 4 to 2.
