Rightwing crackpots Ahmad Tavakkoli and Tom Cotton Normal Iranians and normal Americans seemed pretty optimistic about the deal announcement Thursday. In fact, in Iran, "ecstatic" is probably a better description than optimistic-- at least among Tehran's middle class. For Americans, far more subjected to a ceaseless barrage of extremist propaganda, optimism was as far as it could be expected to go.

The RSG was founded in 1973 by Paul Weyrich and other right-wing paranoids to keep an eye on GOP House leaders they feared would sell out to a more mainstream perspective.
You may have heard that McCain, in preparation for his reelection run in 2016-- if he wins, he'd be 86 when his term expires-- is trying to purge the Arizona GOP of extremists. Aside from "who would be left?" we might wonder what McCain is afraid of. And, of course it's a primary challenge by a teabagger like Dave Schweikert or Matt Salmon.

Wednesday "at high noon," the Tea Party's motley true believers, Michele Bachmann, who resigned from Congress as part of a deal to avoid fraud charges, Steve King and Ted Cruz, called for a massive demonstration in Washington against King Obama's amnesty argle bargle. Bachmann on the TV channel of systemic racism, Fox News: "I'm calling on your viewers to come to DC on Wednesday, December 3, at high noon on the west steps of the Capitol.
