In the House there are currently almost no Republicans voting more progressively than even the most right-wing Democrats and there aren't many Democrats voting as far to the right as even the most moderate Republican.

This morning, Quinnipiac released a poll that shows Americans continue to view Democrats in Congress as the lesser of two evils, with a negative 30 - 60% approval rating, compared to a negative 18 - 73% score for Republicans. 46% want Democrats to take over the House, while 45% want GOP control.

It doesn't surprise me that all Republicans-- including fake "moderates" like Susan Collins, Dean Heller, Kelly Ayotte and Mark Kirk-- voted against confirming Debo Adegbile as head of the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division.

We first wrote about Damon Silvers, the AFL-CIO's director of policy, on Friday. I had never heard of him before. But I liked what he said about holding Blue Dogs, New Dems and other conservative quasi-Democrats accountable for voting with the Republicans against the interests of seniors and working class Americans.
