Tensions continue to flare as a ashes of a massive fire in a residential tower continue to smoulder in London.
The deeply unpopular UK Prime Minister Theresa May has faced heavy criticism for refusing to speak with displaced people and angry locals at the scene of the blaze which police are now investigating as a criminal act.
By contrast, opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn who may well become Prime Minister sooner than many had predicted, spent time talking with and comforting people.

The drink soaked expensive private members clubs of London are generally home of the UK Conservative party’s ageing but still prominent base. Here, people congregate and wax prosaically about their travels to countries lik East Germany and Ceaușescu’s Romania . They speak negatively about censorship, unnecessary bureaucracy, an intimidating Stasi and a total lack of political opposition.

Long before most people in Europe or North America were familiar with the word ‘jihad’, left-wing terrorism ravaged much of Western Europe.
Groups like West Germany’s Red Army Faction/Baader-Meinhof Gang, America’s Symbionese Liberation Army, Italy’s Red Brigades, Spain’s First of October Anti-Fascist Resistance Groups, Portugal’s FP-25, Action Directe in France and the IRA in Britain were left wing terrorist groups who committed numerous atrocities including targeted killings, bombings, kidnappings and torture on a wide scale.

In the last two years, there's been an avalanche of news on the "rise of nationalism." But Nationalism hasn't become dominant recently, it's been dominant without interruption for at least a century and a half.

Normally I do not use or go to this source, but in this case I make an exception, since it highlights the fundamental problem…

America’s Democratic party has a long, fraught, disturbing and surprisingly un-examined history with racism. After the US Civil War ended and the slaves of America’s south became free, the Democratic Party of the American south became a bulwark of anti-black racism. The Democrats made sure that through their ‘Jim Crow Laws’ free black men could not vote or receive anything close to equal rights with their white fellow  Americans.
