Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan is often thought of as a symbol of conservative multiculturalism, something distinct from the radical forced acculturation which has caused social tensions in Europe and the United States.
In the Kazan Kremlin (citadel), the Qolşärif Mosque stands within close proximity to the Annunciation Orthodox Cathedral as well as the Kazan Kreml’ House church.  This is often seen as a symbol representing peace between Islam and Christianity.

Throughout the Middle East, secular leaders who protected the rights of all peoples, including Christians, have been replaced by a combination of weak governments who cannot protect anyone, radical Wahhabist style forces and in some cases, outright chaos. In each case, the anti-Christian regimes have come about after the western sponsored violent overthrow of previous governments who protected Christians.

The Lebanese political party and military organisation Hezbollah, which the US considers a terrorist organisation, has released a statement condemning yesterday’s terrorist atrocities in Egypt which slaughtered scores of Christians on Palm Sunday. ISIS have claimed responsibility for the attacks.
