In a safely blue Chicago districts like IL-03, where Hillary beat Trump 55.2% to 39.9%-- that's the day the next member of Congress is determined. It's a big deal this year on IL-03 because the extreme right incumbent Democrat, Dan Lipinski, has his first-ever primary challenge.
Aaron Goldstein, a gun-control advocate seeking election as Illinois Attorney General, was robbed at gunpoint by three men who failed to obey the city's strict gun-control laws. He was in a local park posing for a campaign photo when he came face-to-face with the consequences of gun-control laws. Luckily, no one was harmed. Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin is considering putting UN soldiers on the streets to combat gun violence, saying that UN 'peacekeepers', would be more suited to patrolling the streets than the US National Guard because they are better “trained” for the role. [That means they are more likely to obey orders to shoot Americans.] Earlier this year, President Trump suggested deploying the National Guard in troubled areas of Chicago, but his idea was fiercely opposed by Democrats.

CHICAGO – As of this week, more than 7,000 of Chicago’s police officers are wearing body cameras while on patrol. According to Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Chicago has the largest number of officers outfitted with the cameras and the department accomplished the task one year ahead of its projected schedule.
