Kissinger: Even Worse Than Cheney

Constantin Costa-Gavras' 1982 film, Missing, had some pretty big stars-- including Jack Lemmon, Charles Cioffi and Sissy Spacek-- and won some pretty big awards-- including the Palme d'Or at Cannes for best male actor and the Academy Award for best writing-- and had a hugely acclaimed score by Vangelis, but there's a good chance you never saw it-- nor read the Tom Hauser book it was based on, The Execution of Charles Horman: An American Sacrifice. That's because Henry Kissinger didn't want anyone to see that film or read that book.

Because Cheney Has Gone Unpunished For His Crimes, Someone Else In His Position Will Do Even Worse In The Future

Yesterday everyone was hating on poor little Belgium. It was over that ballgame in Brazil. I'm not in the Ann Coulter camp or anything, but I just don't get any more excited about soccer than I do about baseball or football or bad mitten. And Belgium… well, I have to admit, was always fly-over country for me when I lived in Amsterdam and visited Paris as frequently as possible-- except I drove.

Just what we need now is "Big Dick" Cheney and his ilk polluting public discourse with their plug-ignorant lies and delusions

And these lies and imbecilities come from a scumbag who should be living out the rest of his wretched existence in prison for his war crimes and crimes against humanity.by KenIt can't be easy to be Dick Cheney. Even now, at his advanced age, in his precarious state of health, there are so many lies left to tell -- and so little time to tell them in.

Who Should Be On Trial-- Cheney, Morsi, Christie… Sisi?

Look, I'm all for holding politicians accountable for their criminal behavior and abuse of power. After reading Barton Gellman's brilliant book on Cheney, Angler, I'm more convinced than ever that Cheney should be rotting in a prison for the rest of his short miserable life, along with David Addington, his chief hatchet man. During the first Bush-Cheney term, Cheney had his way on everything.

Do Public Officials Ever Lie? Better Question: Do They Ever Tell The Truth?

Since taking over from Tim Sebastian in 2006, Stephen Sackur has been the anchor for the BBC's flagship news interview show, HARDtalk, which runs four times a week. I travel a lot, so I see it a lot. Sackur has a well-deserved reputation as the voice of Establishment Group Think propaganda and for asking questions and then aggressively interrupting his guests when they attempt to answer. He's one of television's most annoying little twits and I often wonder why credible figures ever agree to be interviewed by him. Last week, he interviewed Glenn Greenwald.

How Cheney's Illegal Domestic Spying Programs Almost Sunk The Bush White House

Not even waiting for the Supreme Court to halt the vote count in Florida and award the White House to Bush, Cheney moved with incredible speed to fill every position in the national security apparatus with his own people and claim that part of the government as his own turf. If there is one person who can be blamed for dereliction of duty in the events that led up to 9/11, it is Dick Cheney.

Was Accountability For Team Cheney-- A Nest Of War Criminals-- Ever Taken Off The Table?

Darrell Issa's idea of a scandal for his House Oversight Committee to investigate is an entirely partisan witch hunt like "Benghazi!" Though the magnitude around 9-11 was a thousand times greater on any scale, there's never been a peep out of Issa or any of his right-wing colleagues about the dereliction of duty on the part of Cheney and his administration inherent in that catastrophe.
