Then I flew to the U.S., for my first visit back home in 4 years, to tell my mother. Her response was to tell me I couldn't borrow her wigs. Years later my first corporate job was working for a gay man.

In his NY Times column yesterday, that the U.S. is #28... and dropping. And he wasn't talking about soccer. He wrote that "The newest Social Progress Index... finds that out of 163 countries assessed worldwide, the United States, Brazil and Hungary are the only ones in which people are worse off than when the index began in 2011. And the declines in Brazil and Hungary were smaller than America’s." It's worth noting that Brazil and Hungary have also elected fascist-type leaders similar to Trump.

Norman explained how important it is to concentrate on the swing states and how any progressives thinking of not voting for the conservative and unsavory Biden should just focus on the existential danger of another Trump term and do the right thing for the country.

On Thursday night Trump spoke for an hour, closing out his 2020 nominating convention. The media rushed to count the lies and put them all into context. Glenn Kessler's fact-checking team at the Washington Post dubbed his speech "a tidal wave of tall tales, false claims and revisionist history" and listed 32 lies-- 25 from Señor Trumpanzee himself and 7 from his handpicked Thursday speakers.

Actually, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), Congress' most knowledgeable Constitutional scholar is taking it very seriously.

There hasn't been any public polling from Nevada available lately. The last one I found was a Fox poll in January that showed Trump down by 8 points (47-39%). Unless Nevada is entirely in its own universe, that chasm is much wider now. In 2016, Hillary beat Trump 539,260 (47.92) to 512,058 (46.50%), kind of close.
