Samuel Bankman Fried (SBF) was the second largest political donor in the 2022 election, second only to George Soros. The campaign finance charges against him were dropped. He is facing other criminal charges and a $1 billion lawsuit.

Those ratings that castigate Afghanistan and some other poor countries as hopelessly “corrupt” always imply that the United States is not corrupt. This year’s report from Transparency International puts the US on a par with Austria, which is ridiculous. All kinds of people from politicians to businessmen would go to jail in Austria today if they engaged in practices that are quite common in the US.

WASHINGTON –  CREW, a nonprofit whose name is short for Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, filed the complaint on Aug. 4 in Washington — taking issue with the anticlimactic conclusion of what it calls an open-and-shut case of stealth donor activity.
