The Resistance-- California
Yesterday when I woke up, I saw a tweet from Ice-T about how he ignored a call asking him to play the Inauguration. And artist after my own heart!

The California cop who shot and killed an unarmed 73-year-old man Monday has been identified as a 26-year-old rookie who spent time in the U.S. Marines.
Bakersfield police officer Reagan Selman, who became a full-time cop in February 2016, is now on paid administrative leave for killing Francisco Serna, a man who suffered from dementia and was prone to walking through his neighborhood holding a crucifix.
Los Angeles police arrested journalist Jasmyne Cannick while covering a protest against police brutality the night before Thanksgiving 2014, twisting the truth to accuse her of leading a throng of protesters across an imaginary police “skirmish line,” then claiming in their reports that she became so aggressive, they had to push her back.
The DEA is mad that people have learned about the medical benefits of weed.
Jimmy Gomez is a young guy from my neighborhood. When Xavier Becerra was appointed by Jerry Brown to become California Attorney General-- filling the vacancy created by Kamala Harris' election to the Senate last month-- my first thought was to wonder if Jimmy could be persuaded to run for the congressional seat. It's a deep blue seat and there's no Republican who could ever compete there. Obama got 83% of the vote in 2012. So it is going to be a campaign about who who would be the best Democratic candidate, the one with the best proven vision for the job.
At 73 years old, Francisco Serna was in the early stages of dementia, going on late-night walks in his Bakersfield, California neighborhood when he found himself unable to sleep.
On Monday, just after midnight, he was killed by police during one of these walks.
Bakersfield police say they were responding to a report of a man with a gun when a neighbor pointed in Serna’s direction, prompting police to shoot him nine times, killing him on the spot.
The California cop convicted of manslaughter for shooting and killing a DUI suspect in a rollover crash was sentenced to 180 days in jail Friday.
Former Paradise police officer Patrick Feaster, who was also sentenced to 36 months probation, was facing up to five years in prison for the involuntary manslaughter conviction.
