As a result of Hollywood and a fascination with Buddhism among certain celebrities and in some bohemian circles, many Americans are deeply misinformed about Tibet.

World’s Top Religious Leaders Unite to Issue an Urgent Message to Humanity

(ANTIMEDIA) Amid continuously mounting tensions and division throughout the world, religious leaders of various faiths recently came together to issue a plea to their followers: make friends with those who hold beliefs different from your own.
“Our advice is to make friends to followers of all religions,” said Ayatollah Sayyid Fadhel Al-Milani, a senior Shia Muslim cleric in the U.K., in a video recently posted to Youtube. It is accessible in 16 languages.

Lost on the Path to Buddhist Economics

The opposition to the pillaging by the founders of what came to be called capitalism took many forms: from utopian colonies and secret societies of craftsmen to dissenting religious congregations, among other insurgent formations. Many of these rebellious eruptions have modern day equivalents. Intentional communities never disappeared though they cycle from popular ventures to backwoods near oblivion and workers hesitantly emerged from clandestine meetings to openly organize for their rights, though today corporate hostility to unions sees them returning to caution and secrecy.
