North Miami Cop who Shot Caretaker Instead of Autistic Man was Hired After Displaying Warning Signs on Job Application

The award-winning North Miami cop who shot a man laying on the ground with his hands in the air last month, only to later claim he was trying to shoot the man’s autistic companion for wielding a toy truck – which the cop confused for a gun – was deemed a potential problem cop on his job application in 2012.
But warning signs usually turn into welcoming signs in our nation’s police departments, which is why they hired Jonathan Aledda anyway.

Baltimore County Cop Appears to be Wearing Body Cam in Korryn Gaines Standoff Despite Police Saying There Were None

Korryn Gaines swore to police they would have to take her out in a body bag during a traffic stop back in March.
But Baltimore County police managed to pull her out of her car that day without killing her, throwing her in jail for two days on several misdemeanors after they pulled her over for driving without a proper license plate.
In place of a license place, she had a piece of cardboard that read: “Any government official who compromises this pursuit to happiness and right to travel, will be held criminally responsible and fined, as this is a natural right to freedom.”

New York Cops Run Over Groundhog During Police Union Golf Tournament

In a callous and macabre disregard for life, two New York police officers were seen chasing down and intentionally running over a groundhog with a golf cart.
The incident occurred during a Rensselaer police union golf tournament Friday, so it probably won’t be long before the union informs us that the groundhog was somehow threatening the lives of the officers.

Watch: California Cops Kill Man While Standing Behind Cars, then Claim he “Lunged” at Them

Facing a suicidal man who holding a knife to his own throat, California cops said they had no choice but to shoot him dead.
After all, Santa Maria police said they had exhausted all nonlethal means during 30 minutes of negotiations with the 31-year-old man, which was when they shot him multiple times in front of dozens of witnesses, including one man who was recording.
The video shows several police officers standing behind a police car when they opened fire on July 21.

Chicago Police Shoot Unarmed Teen in Back, then Claim Body Cam Not Working

After spending more than $2 million for body cams earlier this year, Chicago police say they have no recording of the shooting that left an unarmed teenager dead last week.
But an autopsy confirms he was shot in the back, which is probably why the camera worn by the officer who killed him was inexplicably not working.
But that didn’t stop the family of 18-year-old Paul O’Neal to file a wrongful death federal lawsuit earlier today.

Arkansas Cops Refuse to Return “Medals of Valor” for Killing 107-Year-Old Man

In Pine Bluff, Arkansas, militarized SWAT cops decorated themselves with “Medals of Valor” for killing 107-year-old Monroe Isadore, who reportedly supported his local cops during his enduring decades of living.
Now Pine Bluff Police are defying an order to return their death medals.
Even after the Pine Bluff City Council voted unanimously to rescind them.

New York Cops Arrests Man for Recording, Telling Him, “I’m Going to Fuck You Up” (Updated II)

A New York cop finished making an arrest Thursday before turning to a man recording the arrest from across the street – a man who had not said a word to the officer – and threatened to arrest that man if he said another word.
Maurice “Mo” Crawley did not understand what the cop had just said, so he asked him to repeat himself.
And that was enough to get him arrested.
It was a blatant violation of Crawley’s Constitutional rights as well as a clear case of retaliation from a cop who did not appreciate being recorded.

Florida Judge Clears Deputy of Manslaughter Charge on State’s “Stand Your Ground” Law, Even Though Witness Claim Victim Never Pointed Weapon

Despite the fact that a witness said Jermaine McBean never pointed a gun at a South Florida deputy who ended up shooting and killing him, a Florida judge took the word of the deputy when he dismissed manslaughter charges against him on Wednesday, basing his decision on the state’s “stand your ground” law.
The decision means that Broward County sheriff’s deputy Peter Peraza will be spared a possible 30-year sentence.

New Jersey Man Receives $175,000 Settlement for Police Siccing Dog on Him and Deleting His Footage After Recording Cops Attacking Woman

A New Jersey man is $175,000 richer after settling with the capitol city of Trenton after officers kicked and punched him while siccing a police dog on him for recording their vicious assault of a woman while calling her a “bitch” and “cunt”.
Police also confiscated his camera and deleted his footage, but were unable to delete footage from another man recording as well as footage from a surveillance camera. Both those videos are below.

New Jersey Police Department to Settle with Family of Man They Killed on Video

The family of Jerame Reid, who was shot dead as he held his hands up, reached a tentative settlement with the Bridgeton Police Department in New Jersey.
The shooting was caught on dash cam video as well as a witness video, which is the only reason the family managed to reach a settlement.
But the video was not enough to indict the cops.
The settlement is still tentative and the family’s lawyer is hoping for more.
