Reports from Syria indicate that part of the façade of the ancient amphitheatre in Palmyra has been destroyed by ISIS who re-took the city during the Syrian Arab Army’s victorious battle against terrorists in eastern Aleppo.

Israel bombs Syrian military airport near Assad’s presidential palace

The airport was rocked by multiple explosions, SANA state news agency stated.
A spokesman for the Syrian army said that several missiles were fired at the Mezzeh airport from the Lake Tiberias area in northern Israel at around midnight on Friday. He has called the incident a “flagrant attack” which confirms Israel’s “support of terrorist groups,” and warned of repercussions.

Assad will not go, Syria to remain united under Russian-Turkish peace plan

On 28th December 2016, the day before the Russian and Turkish Foreign Ministries communicated their ceasefire plan to the UN Secretary General and to the UN Security Council, a report appeared in Reuters which claimed that Russia and Turkey have come to a private understanding to divide Syria into “zones of influence”.
Supposedly this also involves the ultimate removal from power of Syrian President Assad, though supposedly Iran has not agreed to this.
