The mass murder of Muslims in two Christchurch, New Zealand mosques today serves as a grim reminder of the dangers of unchecked social media exchange.
Those who plotted and executed the attack which killed at least 49 Muslims worshipers could not have done so without inspiration and support from other extremist groups on social media and other online networks.

India: Modi’s Sacred Cow Is Neoliberalism

These days, even if you don’t read online journals, or thick books not asssigned by universities, Google is enough to tell you how messy the Indian economic and social situation is. Earnings are low. Unemployment has reached new heights especially among the young and, with the adoption of automation and privatization, this will only worsen.

Fearing Counter-Protests, Anti-Muslim Group Cancels 67 Rallies

Citing the 40,000-strong anti-fascist protest in Boston Saturday, the largest anti-Muslim group in the U.S. has canceled nearly 67 “America First” rallies in 36 states.

Back-Talk from the “Old Stock”

Stephen Harper has been talking recently about “old stock” Canadians — and at the same time stirring up fear and loathing against more recent arrivals in this country, notably those of Muslim faith, in order to mobilize electoral support for his Conservative Party.
