Monday night Samantha Bee was in fine form as she explained why so many evangelicals abandoned Bible-spewing phony Ted Cruz for the most apparently immoral, anti-God candidate in living memory. "Are evangelicals," she wondered aloud, "that eager to get the apocalypse going?"You must watch the video above, but... the short version: Republicans thought they could manipulate a bunch of apolitical, not-too-bright religionists but it backfired and they accidentally saddled the party with Herr Trumpf.

Today Bernie did incredibly well in Kentucky but just couldn't penetrate the low-info precincts in Louisville and Lexington... not even with all the support he had from low-info precincts in coal country. Hillary, with all her gigantic "advantages," managed to scrape by with the narrowest 212,549 (46.8%) to 210,626 (46.3%) plurality. Bernie's strongest returns came from historic Harlan county in the extreme east of the state where he beat her 62.8% to 25.9%.

This morning NBC released a new poll showing that a significant majority of registered Republican voters trust Trump more than Ryan to lead their party-- 58-39%.

The Priorities USA Action ad above, is by a pro-Hillary SuperPAC thatch helped raise millions of dollars for "before" she officially became a candidate. The ad, however, scheduled to start running tomorrow in swing states, is a purely anti-Trump ad and could be as helpful to candidate Bernie as it is to candidate Hillary. Good ad. The second ad from the SuperPAC, slightly more abstract, is below. $6 million dollars worth of these to will be on TV screens in Ohio, Florida, Virginia and Nevada this week and in Iowa, New Hampshire and Colorado soon after.

Every time the media is talking about Trump's repulsive faux-reality world, they're ignoring the issues the presidential campaign should hinge on. And over the weekend two new characters, made-up John Miller and made-up John Barron were introduced into The Donald Show. Bad enough when it was just another example of the bloviating insecure old man with the wig perpetrating fraud in everything he touches. But it was even worse than that:

Who knew what an advocate of an anti-trust agenda Trump is! He's now threatening to use political power against the owner of the Washington Post-- and using a distorted version of Bernie Sanders/Elizabeth Warren terminology to do it-- for daring to investigate him during the campaign. Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, is, according to Trump, using the Washington Post as a political tool to keep his taxes low.
