Lindsey Graham has always had a tart tongue and he was one of the first of the Deep Bench Republican losers who hissed back at Trump (before dropping out of the race with approximately zero percent support... give or take. He must have been traumatized to see Trump win all 50 South Carolina delegates-- with 32.5%, 10 points higher than second-place finisher Marco Rubio. Trump won every congressional district in the state and every county except Charleston and Richalnd-- and they were both pretty close.

John Catsimatidis interviewed two former GOP governors on his radio show yesterday, Jon Huntsman (UT) and George Pataki (NY). Huntsman said he'd support "the party's nominee," but said he has "concerns about some of the things he's said and his stylistic approach, but then I say OK, he has a unique opportunity to bring together constituents under the Republican banner that really have never joined before." Endorsements from Trey Gowdy and Nikki Haley didn't save Marco Rubio in the GOP's crucial South Carolina primary. Trump won the multi-candidate contest comfortably and beat Rubio by ten points. He won all 50 delegates to the Republican Party convention. In fact, in Greenville and Spartanburg counties-- Gowdy's district-- Rubio came in a miserable third.

Yesterday the NRA endorsed Trump, who they are very aware once said, "I support the ban on assault weapons." Watch him slightly modify his stand-up routine for the gun-nuts. Trump changed his tune and is now singing the kinds of lies the NRA chieftains love, like how Hillary Clinton wants to abolish the SecondAmendment. She doesn't'o one does. Trump isn't as "un-Republican" as people sometimes paint him. Like the House Republicans, Trump seems to have agreed to making repealing Dodd-Frank, a bill meant to protect Americans from Wall Street excesses.

Never mind that Clinton-- literally wondering if her rival might get assassinated-- stayed in the 2008 primary 'til the bitter end, hoping for a miracle that would hand her, not Obama, the nomination. Now her camp is growing increasingly hysterical and over-the-top about Bernie's determination to stay 'til the end.

The video above is a good example why so many dedicated progressives are wondering if they can ever, under any circumstances, vote for Hillary Clinton. When they hear her on NPR saying "I feel like my political beliefs are rooted in the conservatism that I was raised with... I'm very proud that I was a Goldwater Girl," they worry what kind of a president she would make.

Just before Harvey Milk was assassinated by a right-wing freak at the end of November, 1978 I had been spending a lot of time with him at his camera store, next door to my business partner's record store, Aquarius, on Castro Street. Harvey didn't have enough foul stuff to say about a fellow Supervisor Dianne Feinstein who was, along with the murderer, Dan White, the persona who represented the Republican interests on the Board. Harvey told me many times why he could never trust her. And she was the greatest beneficiary of the assassinations that November.
