Minneapolis officials and congressional representatives are calling on the federal government to provide aid to Minneapolis and other US cities struck by riots.
“Congress must step in,” US Rep. Ilhan Omar said last week.
Federal officials, however, would do well to remember a famous adage: “If you want more of something, subsidize it; if you want less of something, tax it.”

While it might not be popular to say in the wake of the recent social disorder, the true plight of black people has little or nothing to do with the police or what has been called “systemic racism.” Instead, we need to look at the responsibilities of those running our big cities.
Donald Trump showed his willingness and determination to act by force to suppress the protests in the United States.
On May 25, an African American, George Floyd, was killed by a police officer in Minneapolis. White policeman Derek Chauvin pressed his knee to his neck and held him like this for more than 7 minutes while George was lying face down on the road.
Suspected of paying for a pack of cigarettes purchased in a store, fake notes, Floyd repeatedly said: “I can’t breathe”, but the policeman didn’t stop it. As a result, Floyd died in an ambulance.
Since the US invasion in 2003, Iraq has experienced a number of political upheavals. And to date, the nation has been unable to recover – despite Iraq’s vast crude oil reserves, the citizens’ living standards have not returned to even their basic levels. The illegitimate presence of US occupation troops continues to contribute to a noticeable destabilization of not only political but also socio-economic aspects of day-to-day life of the Iraqi community.
The Duran’s Alex Christoforou and Editor-in-Chief Alexander Mercouris discuss the George Floyd riots that went global with large, and often times violent, protests (specifically hitting the UK) where historical statues were vandalized and torn down by angry mobs.
“Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.” George Orwell’s famous quote comes from his justifiably famous science fiction novel “Nineteen Eighty-Four”.
[Prefatory Note: The post below is a slightly modified text of responses to Javad Heiran-Nia’s interview questions that was published on 2 June 2020 in Mehr News. From the Iranian publication I received some criticisms to the effect that I failed to associate Ayatollah Khomeini’s legacy with the repressiveness of the policies and practices of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Yesterday the NY Times reported that Dr. Fauci "delivered a grim assessment of the devastation wrought around the world by the virus, describing COVID-19 as his 'worst nightmare'-- a new, highly contagious respiratory infection that causes a significant rate of illness and death. 'In a period of four months, it has devastated the whole world.
“Whom the gods would destroy they first make mad.” So declared Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. But he was wrong. The gods don’t make them mad – they make them stupid.

Snohomish Police Chief Keith Rogers was demoted because of his praise for several hundred armed citizens who gathered to protect the town from rioters and looters. Rogers said it was 'festive' and there was an outcry on the Internet from those who support the revolutionaries posing as demonstrators.

We have real news for you here. Hillary Clinton is to face a deposition in September. Another article on The Duran discusses the involvement of George Soros and Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation in the Antifa-spurred Black Lives Matter riots. This newspiece is about one week old, yet, it was almost completely buried in the furor of demonstrations and riots being covered all across the United States and even internationally.
Political leaders and law enforcement have been kneeling at Black Lives Matter events, signaling submission. The mob is demanding ideological conformity, and some people have lost their jobs for speaking out against the riots and chaos. The protests are not about black lives, but instead encourage theft and mayhem.
Authored by Patrick Buchanan via Buchanan.org:
As it rises in prominence, the issue of defunding police will divide the Democratic Party more than the GOP. For while the hard left sees cops in ideological and class terms as racist and fascist, the right, by and large, sees the police as the last line of defense against the anarchy we saw erupt when there were not enough cops in New York and D.C. to control the mobs looting Fifth Avenue and Georgetown.
We often run videos with our newspieces because we know that while a picture is worth a thousand words, a video is truly worth thousands of pictures. We offer a simple, unprofessional video gleaned from Facebook, from a source called “Sergeant StickItTooYa” which despite its use of profanity, offers a very simple, clear analysis of how the riots and demonstrations around the world are being run and directed.
The United States Space Force. In 2018, when the Space Force was made. I warned that the new service will almost most likely look for exemptions from existing rules. Overseeing the rules, and will ask for dropping the benchmark.
Saying that would be important to stay up to date with technological development. I hate to mention this that my warning was pretty close to what I said.

To live with the belief that your government is benign while experiencing each day its malignancy requires, Orwell argued, a constant act of double think. I knew something was seriously wrong with me. I had all kinds of horrifying symptoms. But my doctor couldn't figure it out. So he sent me to see "the top" epidemiologist in L.A. I saw several epidemiologists over the course of over 2 years until someone stumbled upon a relative rare kind of cancer: mantle cell lymphoma. Over two years. I'm not a big fan of epidemiologists.
At least three people were killed in recent violence.
