As a kid growing up in the 90s, I was surrounded by fictional characters who valued making money. Every time Saved by the Bell came on and Zack Morris cooked up a new scheme to make money off his Bayside High classmates, I was inspired. Although Zack’s methods were sometimes less than pure (he has on more than one occasion earned a dishonest dollar), it was his entrepreneurial spirit that encouraged me to start my own hustle.

[audio mp3="http://www.corbettreport.com/mp3/2018-02-06%20Fault%20Lines.mp3"][/audio]In 2016 a website called PropOrNot appeared alleging that a number of alternative media outlets that disagreed with the mainstream bipartisan policy of foreign interventionism (including The Corbett Report) are in fact agents of Russian propaganda. In 2018 a startling new expose purports to show the connections between PropOrNot, the Interpreter, the Broadcasting Board of Governors, and the Atlantic Council.

According to a Gallup survey released a week ago, Trump's overall jon approval is 38% and his disapproval is 56%. What does that tell us for the midterms 9 months from now? Not all that much, primarily because despite Trump's overall poor showing, it's in states that senators and governors are elected and in congressional districts where House members are reelected, not nationally.
I thank Fowler and Hobbs for their letter (2004) and their research (2003). The view that a complexity of factors impacts human population growth certainly makes sense, and they have correctly pointed out that scientifically organized efforts to deal with human problems must take account of manifold interconnected events. Although it is necessary to recognize and acknowledge the complexities inherent[Read More...]

I came to Nicaragua and cried for El Salvador. That was the surprising thought gripping me as I stood, holding back tears, on a nameless dirt road in barrio Augusto César Sandino in the capital of Managua. There was no car traffic on that warm December night, and a couple of families, all wearing shorts, were enjoying the breeze while sitting in plastic white lawn chairs in front of the tin walls (lamina) of their homes...

(ANTIWAR.COM) — As Turkey’s invasion of northern Syria continues, so too does their policy of arresting anyone seen as even sort of opposed to the attack. Israel has issued notices to 20,000 African migrants, most of whom are from Eritrea and the Sudan, according to Reuters. Migrants are being offered $3,500 and a plane ticket to sub-saharan Africa, which they will either accept or face jail time.
The Supreme Court ruled back in August that these migrants can be held for up to 60 days. Benjamin Netanyahu’s government views them as “infiltrators” who seek to exploit Israel as their land of opportunity, rather than refugees from violence. Potential host countries are not detailed in the notices, but are described as “safe”.

Hot on the heels of the publication of the GOP memorandum (discussed by me here) has come another potentially even more extraordinary development in the Russiagate scandal.
This is the publication of a massively redacted version of the referral sent by Senators Grassley and Lindsey Graham to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein requesting that the Justice Department consider whether a criminal prosecution of Christopher Steele, the compiler of the Trump Dossier, should be brought.
Casualties were light on Sunday.
