Normally over half of our visitors arrive via Facebook. These last few days, virtually nothing has come from Facebook: What is especially […]

Locking up Addicts Won’t Solve the Opiate Crisis
(FEE Op-ed) — Criminalization of drug use and possession has had almost no impact on actual levels of drug use. However, the criminalizing of drugs does practically ensure a cycle of criminality and greater prison sentences. As outlined in a January memo, Attorney General Jeff Sessions wants longer mandatory minimums despite their destructive impact on the United States. At […]

What To Do About Facebook — First Thoughts
If a billion-user, private, hugely profitable company were truly this powerful, what should be done about it?by Gaius PubliusThe revelations about Facebook and Cambridge Analytica have come and gone quickly, like a fiery auto crash into a ten-foot wall, the remains of which nevertheless disappear overnight — in this case replaced by the next Trump scandal to hit the news.

Controversial Anti-Anti-Semitism Proposal Likely to Pass After Sneaking into SC Budget
South Carolina: Free-speech advocates are concerned over a proposal to ban criticism of the policies of the Israeli government, under the pretense of opposing anti-Semitism. The proposed "proviso", prohibits blaming Israel for political tensions. To justify this rule, the article mentions that there were bomb threats against Jewish community centers across the country last year, but it neglected to mention the fact that these threats were made by Michael Kadar, a 19-year old Jewish man, who was arrested in Israel for doing so.

Kanye West Wears MAGA Hat, Criticizes Obama for Failing to Stop Violence in Chicago
Kanye West doubled down on leaving the 'Democrat Plantation' by tweeting a photo of himself in a MAGA hat and wrote that, while he doesn't agree with everything Trump or anyone else does, the mob can't make him not love Trump. Then he sent out a message, "Obama was in office for eight years and nothing in Chicago changed," criticizing him for failing to stop the violence. Kanye is facing a firestorm because Democrats fear the loss of the black voting block that would be devastating to the party.

US: ‘Secret Science’ at the EPA Is Coming to An End
Scott Pruitt, the head of the EPA, is shaking up the agency by repealing Obama-era regulations that stifled development. He has proposed a rule to prevent the agency from relying on scientific studies that don’t publish the underlying data. “Americans deserve to assess the legitimacy of the science underpinning EPA decisions that may impact their lives,” Pruitt said. This rule would be a preemptive strike against further global-warming regulations that are based in junk science without real data behind it.

Editor’s Comment: Macron in Washington and The Fall of France
French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to the US does not deserve the attention the news media is giving it.
Macron has nothing to offer Trump. France is only a bit player in the Syrian war. France’s military contribution to the Syrian raid was token. France does not lead Europe, Germany does, and does not decide EU policy, which is decided not in Paris but in Berlin. -

Tucker Carlson DEMOLISHES fake news, homophobe, hypocrite Joy Reid (Video)
MSNBC’s Joy Reid is a “progressive” left darling, but back in 2006, her blog posts showed she was anti-gay to the extreme.
Reid claims she never wrote the blog posts and was hacked by Russian agents.

Joy Reid was in the tank for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 US presidential elections, who also explained away her lazy, loser campaign on, you guessed it…Russian hackers. -
Turgot: The Man Who First Put Laissez-Faire Into Action
Although few of Turgot’s writings were published in his lifetime, he was ablaze with ideas for liberty. Turgot was much too able a man to write anything insignificant, observed intellectual historian Joseph A. Schumpeter. Commenting on his most important work, a slim volume, Schumpeter noted that it "contains a theory of barter, price, and money that, so far as it goes, is almost faultless ... comprehensive vision of all the essential facts and their interrelations plus excellence of formulation."

David Stockman Enters Hostile Territory to Support Nonintervention and Oppose Increased Military Spending
Investing and current affairs writer David Stockman found himself in hostile territory this week in an interview at the Fox Business show Mornings with Maria. In the often-tense interview, Stockman seems to shock and rile some of the show’s hosts with his assessments that the United States military should not have been given a big monetary infusion in the recent spending deal worked out by President Donald Trump and Congress and that the US should stop its excessive military intervention overseas.

How False Flag Operations Are Carried Out Today
By Philip M. GIRALDI | Strategic Culture Foundation | 26.04.2018 False Flag is a concept that goes back centuries. Factfulness: Why Things Are a Lot Better Than You Think
If you are among the 35m or so people who have watched Hans Rosling's lectures on YouTube, you may be familiar with his natty graphs and cheerily avuncular presentation style. The basic message is pretty simple—“chin up, the world is getting much, much better." Despite the “mega misconception that things are getting worse," deaths from disease, natural disasters, famine, and war have all plummeted in a relatively short space of time. And the demographic evidence suggests we are not actually heading for a Malthusian horror-show of overpopulation-induced starvation.

The Rise & Rise of Inhuman Hate Politics
Modi’s biggest contribution to India is teaching it to hate. It seems to be finally dawning on the people that “Modistan” is the same as “Rogistan”. Midnight Meme Of The Day!

It's also a picture of a pair of mangy disease carrying rodents that are the faces of the Republican Party. I wonder what was discussed the day this photo was taken.
