It’s important that these people’s voices are heard, because the terrorism they in Homs were facing (and still are, randomly now and then) is being felt in other areas of Syria, particularly in the lead-up to the elections. Tonight at 8:30 (5:30 PT), MoveOn and HuffPo are broadcasting a dialogue between Senator Elizabeth Warren and author Thomas Piketty from Boston's historic Old South Meeting House. I wonder how many other Members of Congress, or how many candidates for Congress, have read Piketty's high acclaimed new book, Capital In The Twenty-First Century. I did an unscientific survey and found that no one had.

The average person is told all manner of things that are incorrect, wrong and falacious via the media and the government and think it is real.
One day soon, though, like in the movie, your average person in the US is going to have their boat run up into the falsely erected walls and realize that everything they believed about the US economy was a lie.
By then the US economy will be a smoldering crater, the US dollar will have collapsed and capital and travel controls will be fully in place.

Some insist the US is going to stop supplying rebels and finally get their  hired killers out of SyriaThose pushing that idea are mistaken. The US will not leave. The US will not stop aiding it's killers. One reason is that Israel has too great a stake in this fight.  There are other reasons, but, the Israeli stake in this destroy/destabilize campaign is enough to make the point. The US/NATO/Israeli special ops, military and Islamist mercenaries are going nowhere.

When John Barrow first ran for Congress in 2004, friends of mine in Athens persuaded me that he had been a liberal county commissioner and had a chance to replace freshman GOP extremist Max Burns in Congress. I wrote a maxed-out check. It didn't take long before I realized I'd made an error. Towards the end of the campaign Barrow revealed what a slimy worm he is. He called me to tell me that although he personally had nothing against gay people, he had to campaign as though he did. I didn't think to ask for my money back.
