Just when you thought US foreign policy could not get more absurd. Lt. Gen. Stephen Townsend, who is listed as “commander of US forces in Iraq and Syria,” has issued a warning to the Syrian military that if its counter-insurgency operations on Syrian soil leave US troops on Syrian soil “feeling threatened,” the US military would “defend itself.”
That needs to be broken down to even be believed.

Suicide squad is who they call to counsel the people leaving this vapid movie. Possibly the worst superhero film yet, it even rivals the likes of Spawn, Catwoman and Ghost Rider. At least there was Nic Cage, but here, only a confused and garbled CGI wasteland that is as messy as the single mom tats emblazoned every scene.

Michael Phelps and the purple dots on his back and shoulders have gotten a ton of media attention lately, but instead of the time-honored practice of cupping gaining positive publicity, Phelps is being told not to embrace the alternative therapy. But are these writers of various online posts correct, or does cupping actually have evidence to back it up?

Although the recent flooding in Louisiana has tragically taken somewhat of backseat to the Olympics in national headlines, more light has been shone on this event when one couple took it upon themselves to serve up a huge barbecue for flood victims and those in need.
The flooding in the state has damaged over 40,000 homes and has taken at least 13 lives. But Christian and Amanda Dornhorst hoped to be a light in the lives of those living in a temporary homeless shelter by serving them up a feast. [1]

Last week Trump pivoted again. The United Kingdom, not unlike the United States, is striving to tackle the rising issue of childhood obesity. In order to do so, the government has issued a plan of action that both cuts down the amount of sugar allowed in food and places a hefty tax on sweet drinks. The tax would help fund exercise- and other healthy living-related initiatives. Though while many find this to be a good start, some critics are striking down on the upcoming changes.

The congressional delegation is made up of 7 right-wing Republicans, one progressive Democrat from Memphis, Steve Cohen, and a very conservative Blue Dog from Nashville, Jim Cooper who could just as well be a Republican in terms of his voting record.

Though Helms had left the Agency, three documents from the CIA's open source monitoring of media coverage show they were keeping an eye on developments.
Ten years ago, Jeni Stepien’s father was shot and killed in a robbery when she was just 23. A few short weeks ago, the man who received Michael Stepien’s donated heart walked Jeni down the aisle on her wedding day. It was early August when Stepien, 33, tearfully held Arthur Thomas’ wrist and chest, quietly nodding as he asked her, “Can you feel it?” [1]
Michael Stepien couldn’t physically be there to walk his little girl down the aisle on her wedding there, but his heart was with her, beating strong inside Thomas’ chest.
