The John Hopkins map claiming to be documenting Coronavirus cases is less accurate then it should be. And the flaw is reported just below the map.
"Data sources: WHO, CDC, ECDC, NHC and DXY and local media reports"
Local media reports? From the blog:
In response to this ongoing public health emergency, we developed an interactive web-based dashboard (static snapshot shown above) hosted by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University, to visualize and track reported cases in real-time.
Reported cases are not necessarily confirmed and actual cases.
"To identify new cases, we monitor various twitter feeds, online news services, and direct communication sent through the dashboard."
New cases are identified via twitter feeds and online news services? The COVID- 19 Government of Canada website Reports as of 7:00 am est that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases sits at 304. John Hopkins map, at this same time, is reporting Canada as having 339 confirmed cases. That's an additional 35 cases claimed as confirmed by John Hopkins. It follows that if John Hopkins has errors in it's confirmed cases, there are errors in all other data including deaths. If there are inaccuracies in Canada's data- Surely other nations data,as featured, is incorrect also? One wonders if John Hopkins is conflating data? (regular flu and Covid CONFLATED as an example)"Combining two or more separate things to form a whole"
