Finian Cunningham: An Angel Song for Peace and an End to Violence

An Angel Song for peace and an end to violence … No one was hearing this Angel’s song…

Editor’s Note : Here’s a song written and sung by Finian Cunningham, a political analyst whose incisive analysis are frequently featured here at Veterans News Now.
“War violates every right of a child — the right to life, the right to be with family and community, the right to health, the right to the development of the personality and the right to be nurtured and protected.”
“….modern wars are exploiting, maiming and killing children more callously and more systematically than ever” ~ Graca Machel 1996 and 2000.

Take a look here. The first commenter correctly questions: “Can a video provoke debate on Peace & Justice and rule of law ?”
Of course it can. Those smiling politicians seen in the video, lying for political expedient, are unfit for office.
Every one of them in that video knows the truth of what is happening. But, it is also politically convenient to make a distinction between what one “knows” personally, and what one “knows” politically, or professionally, or politically correctly, as they inaccurately prefer to refer to it, for politics is no more of a Professional occupation than that of a street whore. It may not be what it was intended to be, but it is what they have made of the trade. And, it is these men and women representatives in government who have made the greatest contributions to infamy in both  ”professions,” familiarity with and favors for all, truth, service and loyalty to none!
It would be a simple matter for the press to determine the truth if they would simply ask to see the briefing notes. You can bet your bippy that just about every one of those smiling men and women in suits keep precise notes on what they were told to say and do, as well as the briefers. Perhaps Chuck Hagel would release them. Since it did not happen on his watch, he has nothing to win or lose.

Iraqi civilian death count showing at JustForeignPolicy  is currently 1,455,590 resulting from the invasion, not counting deaths from sanctions and the Gulf War.  Here is a link to Robert Naiman’s article where he compares the Lancet (the British Medical Magazine study) which estimated 654,965 Iraqi deaths as of July 2006 to the ORB poll which estimated in 2007 that there were more than 1,200,000 Iraqi deaths since 2003. Information Clearing House figures. Justin Raimondo of Antiwar chose lower figures for deaths from the war resulting from the invasion.  Here is his take from his latest article American Apocalypse:

A new study shows our noble crusade to “liberate” Iraq killed half a million people. It is impossible to even imagine such a crime: the mind shuts down in the face of those numbers. I can’t even visualize half a million dead bodies – can you? And that doesn’t take into account the sanctions, which killed hundreds of thousands more, mostly old people and children. Nor does it include the number we killed in the first Gulf war – we’re surely up to a solid million dead by now. Getting away with this is what we call “American exceptionalism.”

America has long been accused of (or credited with) leading the world in whichever direction it takes. Rightly or wrongly, this assessment should be taken at face value and the American Press should demonstrate the wisdom of demanding truth and accountability from its elected Representatives and Legislators by disenfranchising the likes of John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Nancy Pelosi,  Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Ted Cruz, Eric Cantor, John Boehner, the whole bunch of hypocrites and traitors, the so-called neocons or ziocons in the next Congressional elections. Is that too much to expect of a nation and people that prides itself as the purveyors of democracy ?
UPDATED:
Lowell Weicker, Former CT Senator and Governor Speaking at the Tree of Life Conference on October 20, 2013, said, “When I think of Israelis, Palestinians and today’s wall I’m reminded of yesterday’s East German wall and when that obstruction came down I remember an America that stood up and cheered. What then is the difference between that wall and the one that stands as an abomination in the holy land today?”

Her main focus are the US-Mid-East Conflicts. Her writing has been featured in several print and online publications in the Middle East. She is committed to exposing (AIPAC) the Israel Lobby’s control of American policy for the Middle East.
Control which amounts to treason by the Zionist Lobbies in America and its stooges in Congress, and that guarantees there can never be a peaceful resolution of the Middle East conflicts, only catastrophe for all, in the region and the world.
Her mission is to inform and educate the public on issues of the US/Middle East conflicts that are unreported, underreported, or distorted in the Zionist owned American Media.
Her writing reflects the incredible resilience, almost superhuman steadfastness of the occupied and oppressed Palestinians, who are now facing the prospect of a final round of ethnic cleansing.
Her mission is to inform and educate internet viewers seeking unfiltered information about real events on issues of the US/Middle East conflicts that are unreported, underreported, or distorted in the American media.
The purpose is to look at the current reality from a different and critical perspective, not to simply rehash the pro-US/Israel perspective, smoke and mirrors that has been allowed to utterly and completely dominate Mainstream discourse.
