The First Female Presidential Nominee

Long before spiritual guru Marianne Williamson ran for president, Victoria Woodhull, presidential nominee of the Equal Rights Party, conducted seances, read palms, and claimed to be an active medium through which dead people spoke.
Whatever you think of spiritualism, her most absurd belief was surely “Christian communism.”
But she was also way ahead of her time on matters related to suffrage and women’s equality.
