US messaging on Syria’s chemical weapons use indicates increasing likelihood of airstrikes to degrade government military capabilities

There have been increasing signals in recent weeks to suggest that a case for action is being built against the Syrian government for their use of chemical agents. In January, Switzerland’s reputable Journal of Forensic Toxicology published the first unclassified report by German and Dutch experts providing “unambiguous evidence” that the banned chemical warfare agent sarin was used in Syria. US National Security Advisor, H.R. McMaster stated on 17 February that “it is time for all nations to hold the Syrian regime and its sponsors accountable for their actions”. Previously, the US launched 59 cruise missiles against Al Shayrat Airbase in April 2017, in response to the government’s suspected use of sarin against the town of Khan Sheikhoun.

I would agree the US has been sending "increasing signals" in this regard.

The forum began a four-week regular session on Monday.Julian Braithwaite, Britain’s ambassador, said in his letter to the Council, which was made public, that his country would seek adoption of a resolution whose text was to be circulated shortly"
