John Potash on his book Drugs as Weapons Against Us

John Potash discusses his book Drugs as Weapons Against Us: The CIA’s Murderous Targeting of SDS, Panthers, Hendrix, Lennon, Cobain, Tupac and other Activists. We talk about the role narcotics trafficking as has played in the rise of the American oligarchy and how this self-anointed elite has weaponized drugs in order to quell meaningful dissent. Later we discuss how intelligence agencies have used musicians and other celebrities to market drugs and the impact narcotics trafficking has had on the global economy.
John completed graduate studies at Columbia University. He is journalist who has been published in the Baltimore Chronicle, the City Paper, Covert Action and other publications. His first book The FBI War on Tupac Shakur and Black Leaders was published in 2007. John also works as a counselor helping people with mental health and addiction issues.
