Processing Distortion with Peter B. Collins: California Moves to Suppress Critics of Israel

Peter B. Collins presents “A Call to Action”
On two tracks, California is embracing unconstitutional measures to restrict speech and actions by opponents of policies of the State of Israel. In March, the University of California Board of Regents adopted a “Statement of Tolerance” that only focuses on critics of Israel and conflates anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism. An extension of Israel’s well-funded effort to thwart the growing BDS movement (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions), we note that Hillary Clinton expressed her opposition to BDS in a letter the the Methodist General Conference, which is considering endorsement of BDS. And we detail a very dangerous bill that’s sailing through the California legislature that would create a blacklist to ban all public contracts with companies that support BDS.
*Rabbi Brant Rosen’s commentary, "Anti-Zionism Isn’t a ‘Form of Discrimination,’ and It’s Not anti-Semitism" is here and you can read the current draft of the California law here.
