ISIS’s treasurer steals ‘Zakat’ funds and flees to Turkey

An Egyptian man has delivered a financial blow to the islamic State of Iraq and Sham. After becoming the emir of the ‘Zakat’, a so called charity fund, departement, the man fled to Turkey with an amount of $1 million US dollars.
Abu Obeida al-Masri, the Egyptian man who was the treasurer of ISIS’s Syrian branche, fled with the funds amounting to one million US dollars, which were collected by his departement in the Deir Ez Zour province, Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper reported. After this incident, ISIS has reportedly stopped recruiting jihadists from Egypt.
