The United Slave States of America
Something is happening in the United States. We now have a pre-Ferguson and post-Ferguson America, one in which the realities of black life, institutional racism, the criminal injustice system, drug war and internal colonization and exploitation have been made visible for all to see. Urban rebellions (or ‘riots’) erupted, protests spread, and much of the American population is being awakened and activated in response to the obvious injustice and oppression which has been a constant in the lives of many black Americans in the United Slave States of America.
