 Trump/Biden Debate by Nancy Ohanian Trump was a national embarrassment. That's what you get when you practice debating with Rudy Giuliani. And Biden was, at best... a weak foil.

  Last week the U.S. new cases numbers were back over 50,000-- even though cases were down in California and Texas, the two biggest states both population-wise and COVID-wise. All week the spiking has been in the Midwest. Friday, for example, Illinois was #4 with 2,805 new cases, Wisconsin was #5 with 2,504 new cases, Missouri #8 with 1,765 new cases, and climbing numbers in Kansas, Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio, and Iowa.

Back To School With Betsy And Donald by Nancy Ohanian  Wisconsin is a thinking state and in 2016 both national parties nominated the worst possible contenders for people accustomed to using their brains. By the end of the campaign thoughtful voters on both sides of the partisan divide were ready to puke. Many sat it out and others were motivated by a lesser of two evils strategy.

  Today, Blue America endorsed a 6th progressive Democrat running for the Wisconsin Assembly-- Shaun Murphy-Lopez. Right now, the super-gerrymandered state Assembly has 63 Republicans, 35 Democrats and one vacant seat. Democrats need to start the road back to control of the legislature by making a big dent in the GOP majority this November.

 Wisconsin's 3rd Assembly District is on the northeast banks of Lake Winnebago, south of Green Bay and includes parts of Outagamie and Calumet counties, including areas of Appleton, Menasha, Kimberly, Little Chute, Combined Locks, Harrison, Sherwood and Forest Junction. The district went for Trump in 2016 but swung blue in their spring's super-charged Supreme Court race. Jill Karofsky won most of the district-- all but the very rural red precincts.

 Francesca Hong is a super-progressive running for a deep blue Assembly seat in Madison, Wisconsin. And, believe me, the Republicans are going to be very sorry to see her. A champion of the working class, she is fearless, courageous and doesn't take any crap. Born and raised in Madison, she's a first generation Korean American who opened a restaurant and had a son in 2016.

Trump Snowball Effect by Nancy OhanianNew polling from CNN shows Trump losing among likely voters in both Wisconsin and North Carolina. Trump is down 3 points in North Carolina and 10 points in Wisconsin. Although Trump won both states in 2016, Wisconsin had a statewide election since then which was disastrous for the GOP.

Tsunami by Nancy OhanianRight now Blue America is trying to figure out which voters to target in several congressional races around the country where we plan to advertise. Normally, we try to reach persuadable voters and leave turning out the base to others. This year I've never seen so few persuadable voters. Because of Trump, almost everyone seems to have made up their minds.

With Trump forces-- whether in the U.S. or Russia-- having prepared to steal the election by hacking voting machines in a few pivotal counties, news of heavily-promoted absentee voting, which has always been friendlier to Republicans than Democrats, sent Trump into a months-long rage.
