Russian President Vladimir Putin assured graduates of Russia’s military academies that several Russian weapons systems are years, even decades more advanced than its foreign counterparts. Earlier this year, the Russian President unveiled numerous weapons systems with advanced capabilities which do not yet possess equivalents anywhere else in the world relative to their impressive capabilities.

US President Donald Trump got himself into something he wasn’t wearing the shoes for recently as he went about a policy of incarcerating unapproved border crossers without due process and separating families families as he does so. Images of children in cages circulated all over the internet, and the media went wild over the matter, as was the behaviour of Trump’s support base which went to any length to justify the action.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and US National Security Adviser John Bolton met Wednesday in a preparatory meeting regarding a long-awaited and anticipated summit with President Donald Trump. That summit has been looking more and more likely to happen since the first known reports in The Wall Street Journal on 2 June, and today’s meeting appeared by all accounts to be very positive.
In a further sign the US is losing the dominance of the world’s economic system which it has enjoyed since the end of World War 2, Russia is massively divesting from US securities.
In April, Russia dumped $47 billion in US bonds – roughly half of the US debt it holds.
US President Trump’s escalating tariff war, plus ever-expanding US sanctions on Russia, could also be contributing factors to Moscow’s decision to increasingly ditch dollars.
In exchange, Russia is turning to an ancient and time-tested store of value: gold.
The White House has announced that US National Security Adviser John Bolton will travel to Moscow next week, to discuss a potential meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
Washington and Moscow are “looking at the possibility” of Donald Trump meeting with Vladimir Putin in July.
