Florida Cop Who Knocked Phone from Disabled Veteran’s Hands Acquitted on Battery

A Florida cop who became internet famous in a viral video showing him slapping a camera out of the hands of a disabled veteran who had parked in a handicapped spot was acquitted of battery Wednesday.
But Riviera Beach Police Sergeant Garry Wilson was convicted of criminal mischief for the incident that left the veteran’s phone with a cracked screen. He was sentenced to six months probation.
The incident occurred on August 9 after Isiah James had parked his car in a handicap stop and went into Walgreens to make a purchase.

Pennsylvania Man Arrested on Felony for Recording Cop Files Lawsuit

As far as police videos go, it was pretty uneventful; a vertical video showing a Pennsylvania police officer trying to resolve a neighborhood parking dispute between a resident and a school teacher who worked nearby.
Nobody was arrested. Nobody was beaten. Nobody was tasered or pepper sprayed. And nobody was shot and killed, which meant that nobody really cared.

Watch: Seattle Police Toss Explosives into Crowd, Leaving Journalist with One-Inch Gash on Face

As they’ve done in previous years, Seattle police lobbed blast ball grenades at protesters and journalists during this year’s May Day demonstrations, leaving one citizen journalist with a one-inch gash in his face.
Seattle Police Chief Kathleen O’Toole said police had no choice but to toss the explosives into the crowd because protesters were damaging property and attacking officers.
“The demonstrators put some innocent people in jeopardy. So we had to take action,” O’Toole said during a press conference.
Even if that meant injuring innocent people.

But that’s only the video that survived.
The woman who recorded the video said that police deleted another video that had recorded the beating.

Memphis Police Arrest Man for Recording Despite Departmental Policy That Says They Can’t (Updated)

Memphis police pounced on a man and arrested him for recording them in public despite a written departmental policy introduced in 2013 that made it clear they were not allowed to do that.
But the video shows they did not give that memo a second thought as they ordered him from the street to the sidewalk, then pounced on him when he stood on the sidewalk.
“As a matter of fact, the sidewalk is made to walk, not to stand,” the cop said as he ordered the man to keep walking away from the so-called “crime scene,” even though there was no crime tape establishing a perimeter.

Southern California Security Guards Order Man to Stop Recording as They Place Man in Chokehold

Security guards from a Southern California hospital ordered a man to stop recording as one of them wrapped his arm around a man’s neck and wrestled him to the street.
The videographer, who maintains the YouTube channel, IRATE Productions, was standing on a sidewalk outside UC Medical Center in San Diego, but was told he was standing on private property.
While it is doubtful the sidewalk in front of the hospital in private property, the man then moved onto the street to continue recording.

Thinking she was above the law, an off-duty Florida deputy confronted a tow truck driver with a gun and a badge as he was towing her car last week, which had been illegally blocking a sidewalk, threatening to arrest him for “illegally stealing my truck.”
The tow truck driver pulled out his phone to record the confrontation, leading to the deputy to be reassigned, whatever that means.

Oakland School Security Guard Exposed as Liar by Student Dash Cam

A security guard at an Oakland high school accused a student of striking the car of a school employee with his car even though the student’s dash cam shows the employee backing up into his car.
The collision, if we can even call it that, was minor, leaving possible scratches, but there is no doubt that the school employee backed up into the student.

The woman who was repeatedly punched while handcuffed by a Florida sheriff’s officer that led to his arrest Thursday was brutally beaten in a prior incident as she was being arrested, a new video shows.
The dash cam video shows two Jacksonville sheriff officers struggling to arrest Mayra Martinez in the parking lot of Scores Gentlemen’s Club where she had a dispute with management on her first day on the job.
