Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, talked about how the US embassy and American diplomats meddled in Venezuela’s elections, calling for the opposition to boycott the elections in a bid to undermine its legitimacy, in a recent interview with Deutsche Welle.
Western media, in attempts to parrot the illegitimacy claims, have often pointed to the boycotts that much of the opposition carried out.
The commemorative medal had already been cast and published. The Venezuelan people reelected Nicolas Maduro for a second presidential term on May 20. Washington has taken up the perspective that it’s not going to do business with any country that they aren’t fond of, regardless of whatever agreements that it has made, and neither will it allow any of its friends or trade partners do it either, regardless of whatever that means for the hundreds of millions of people that America is directly and indirectly impacting in so doing.
Columbia is about to become the first Latin American nation to join NATO as its newest member.
The Columbian President Juan Manuel Santos told a press briefing in Bogota “We are getting into the big leagues. We will be measured, compared and evaluated with the best.”
Their membership is to be ratified in Brussels next week.
