Headlines emanating from the West regarding Syria’s ongoing war have a common theme – allegations of Syria and Russia’s “ruthless barrage” of the northern region of Idlib.
There has long been talk of the role that Turkey had to play in the facilitation and even covert support for elements of Daesh (IS, ISIS, Islamic State). Many state actors have leveled accusations against Turkey, for which no-one seems to have – at least to public knowledge – been pursued by Turkish Authorities.
But how deep does the indirect collaboration between Daesh and the Turkish State go?

At least sixteen militants of the Ahrar al-Sham Movement were killed on August 30 in a supposed raid by the Russian Special Forces.
According to the available information, a unit of the Russian Special Forces raided the militants’ position between the towns of Qasabiyeh and Hursh Abdin in southern Idlib after a successful infiltration.
Russia estimates that some 3,000 individuals with links to the Daesh [ISIS] terror group and its affiliates still remain in Syria, but there are other terrorist groups operating in the country, Russia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Gennady Kuzmin said on Tuesday.
The Syrian Ministry of health is working to import 1000 medical devices from Iran through the Credit Line between Syria and Iran.
The medical devices due to be imported will meet the needs of hospitals and health centers affiliated to the Ministry.

On Monday, Iran warned Israel of “grave consequences” over its “aggressive actions” amid airstrikes in Syria on targets that Prime Minister Netanyahu referred to as Iranian.

A military operation of Syrian troops in the town of Khan Sheikhoun does not violate any agreement, including agreements between Russia and Turkey on the formation of the de-escalation zone in Idlib, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday.

This has been a difficult week for Western and Gulf state-backed terrorist militants in Syria. Still, based on all available data, it’s clear that the US and Turkey are still actively protecting al Qaeda and ISIS positions in Syria.
