Just three weeks ago, the western pro-war neoliberal and neocon politicians and their respective mainstream media outlets were all up in arms, shrieking in unison with cries of betrayal after US President Donald Trump announced he would be pulling US troops out of Syria.
At the time, most people believed he was serious, even the skeptics and critics. The Neoliberal wing of his opposition castigated Trump for “abandoning the Kurds,” and the Neoconservatives railed against him for “giving ISIS a lifeline” and “caving to Putin and Assad.”
Just as Bush the Younger had done, and Nobel Laureate Obama before him, and Clinton before that – President Donald J. Trump and the US government are lying to Americans and the world.
Right on cue. If their underground PR office is to be believed, ISIS has now named a new leader. ISI is warning US against any untoward ‘rejoicing’ or gloating as President Trump has been doing since last weekend’s media festival in the US.
Undoubtedly, any ‘ISIS attack’ no matter how large or small, or how obscure – will be used by Washington to justify a further (and indefinite) US-led western occupation in places like Syria and Iraq.
In EP #300 of the SUNDAY WIRE, host Patrick Henningsen speaks with Syrian political analyst and commentator Maram Susli aka ‘Syrian Girl’ to discuss Trump’s apparent U-turn in Syria – as US troops quickly move back into northeastern Syria after the White House told the world it was ‘pulling out’.

Trump calling Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi “the world’s number one terrorist leader” ignored reality. No individual, group, or other nation matches US state-terrorism, ongoing at home and abroad worldwide.
As US president and commander-in-chief, the buck stops with him, bearing executive authority for what’s happening on his watch.
Turkey seems intent on pushing the boundaries as it attempts to crave out its own space of operations in northern Syria.

Like his predecessors, Trump operates as a frontman for the military, industrial, security complex, Wall Street, and other monied interests. As commander-in-chief, he continues endless US wars of aggression in multiple theaters, along with economic terrorism on Iran, Venezuela, North Korea, Cuba, and other nations on the US target list for regime change — including China and Russia.
To much fanfare, President Trump announced to America and the world, the killing of ISIS leader Abu Bakar Al-Baghdadi.
