Much of Venezuela plunged into darkness Thursday evening, creating chaos as people struggled to navigate their way home amid what appeared to be one of the biggest blackouts yet in a country where power failures have become common.
Self-proclaimed “Interim President of Venezuela,” Juan Guaidó, seems to be Washington’s man of the moment for Venezuela. His supporters say his will deliver salvation of freedom and democracy in Venezuela and rescue it from the jaws of an ‘evil socialist criminal government’. But is he just a means to an end for regime change artists and economic hit men in Langley, VA. His opponents are accusing him of climbing into bed with Imperialist powers and effectively stabbing his own country in the back.
Venezuela’s opposition is calling on the United States and allied nations to consider using military force to topple the government of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
A sitting U.S. Senator, Marco Rubio, is running around like a cowboy threatening people in Venezuela. In his latest tirade, Rubio sent a tweet containing a before and (bloody) after image of Muammar Gaddafi – seen as a graphic ‘warning’ to Venezuela’s President, Nicolás Maduro.
This week saw both the US government and the EU set a deadline of February 23rd for Venezuela’s legitimate and democratically elected president, Nicolas Maduro, to step down from power and hand the country over to the CIA’s hand-picked puppet, Juan Guiado, whom Washington has declared as Venezuela’s president.

Travelling with Hugo Chavez, I soon understood the threat of Venezuela.
