In response to climate change warnings, the world’s largest beer company has announced plans to use only renewable energy sources like wind and solar by the year 2025. [1]
Anheuser-Busch (AB InBev), the maker of Budweiser beer, has committed to 100% renewable energy sources, making it the largest “direct purchaser of renewable electricity in the global goods sector.” The move would shift 6 terawatt-hours of electricity annually fro­m fossil fuels to solar, wind, and other renewable sources. That’s almost enough to power all of Spain for a month. [1] [2]

The decision is being called “a little ironic.”

(ANTIMEDIA) Scientists in Germany have opened doors in the realm of renewable energy and solar experimentation. Using a 50-foot structure and 149 industrial-grade spotlights, Kai Wieghardt and his team have created “Synlight,” the “world’s largest artificial sun.”

Carbon emissions from China’s energy sector stalled last year for the third year running — as coal use fell again and solar deployment nearly doubled.

The role of solar variability on climate change, despite having a very long scientific tradition, is currently downplayed as a climatic factor within the most popular hypothesis for climate change.

California is taking the lead on solar and renewable energy, requiring that 33 percent of electricity come from the sun and wind by 2020. This will up to 50 percent in 2050 in an effort to save resources and better the environment by reducing the need for fossil fuels. This was put into effect by California governor Jerry Brown, who signed the bill in 2015.  [1]
