Psychopaths are a dangerous lot. They lie as easily as they breathe and when they’re not busy gaslighting people they’re hunting for bits of sensitive information to exploit later on. Clinical therapists recommend that the best way to deal with psychopaths is to avoid them.
Yet most people are loath to abandon the little monster that is the smartphone. Particularly denizens of the Beltway. These users would be well advised take a sober look at their mobile devices and acknowledge the true nature of what they’re dealing with. 

Silicon Valley pioneer Jaron Lanier has raised the alarm on the dangerous of using social media. In short, too much of it can risk ruining your life.
In his interview with Britain’s C4, internet Lanier explains how firms like Facebook, Twitter and Google are using algorithms to manipulate and record data on how their users think and feel – in effect shaping how we see the virtual world, as well the real world too. Watch:

Many people believe that social media can be a positive force for good in the world, but we must be careful how we use it. But is there a deeper truth in this technological paradox? Is there an existential crisis brewing below the surface of 21st century society and culture?

They say there are only two certainties in America – death and taxes. You can add a third item to that list: that Democrats will forever be upset about the 2016 Election result. Such is the level of their angst that they have dedicated every ounce of political capital for the last four years towards reversing that result and ousting President Donald Trump from the White House.
