Right Wing Jerks

Insidious Path to Oligarchy

Evidence has mounted that the presidential election of 2000 was probably stolen by George W. Bush in the days leading up to and following voting on November 7, 2000. Now fifteen years later, there are three, whose fingerprints were all over the effort, now standing in positions of power – one has already been instrumental in changing the way elections are held, a process now more chaotic and less democratic. The other two are running for president as Republicans.

The Only Issue in 2016: The Legacy of 1776

At this site I have already reviewed scholarship and recent history with which I would otherwise seek to illustrate my position. For the sake of brevity I will refrain here from submitting the entire indictment again.
However, the “Greatest Show on Earth” is starting to roll into a town near you — thankfully not one near me — and with it the usual battalions of charlatans and hypocrites will also come, those waving what George Carlin so poignantly called “America’s greatest theatrical prop” (aka as Bible, Holy Scripture etc.)

GOP Favors Militarism against Iran

It seems that Republicans would rather cut their throats than to offer affirmation to anything that President Obama might do or favor. It’s not just a personal thing. It’s political. It’s spiteful, and in some cases, it’s racist.
Don’t tell me ideological. They have rejected Obama policies that they themselves favored the day before Obama proposed them. Even, Mitt Romney, the architect of Romney Care, which Obamacare was patterned after, rejected/demonized/vilified the Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”) in 2012, along with every other Republican. It’s not ideological.

Core Bore Trump Trumps Craven Ravings

Why has Donald Trump surged in popularity with Republican Party partisans?
The two stout legs on which the Republican Party firmly stands are bigotry and greed. In order to grasp control of American public attention to meet the demands of its two core principles, the Republican Party reaches out with a left hand of lying and a right hand of hypocrisy.

President Obama’s Press Conference on Iran Today (July 15)

No one can claim that President Obama was not transparent in this masterful press conference. He answered every question, and even extended the press conference to answer more. It may take a sledgehammer to get the Republicans to take their fingers out of their ears and hear the clear facts the President laid out in the plainest terms.

Kissing the Asses Good-bye

George Carlin said it best: “Forget the politicians. The politicians are put there to give you the idea you have freedom of choice…you don’t. You have owners. They own you. They own everything…” Of course, I’ve been aware of how the American political system works for quite some time now, but for a brief shining moment I was distracted. Overcome with hope. Hoodwinked by a young politician named Barack Obama. Hopeful that this erudite guy who talked the talk might just get away with walking the walk. Silly me. They own him too.

Divide and Conquer or Divide and Decline?

We have a place, an everyday stake in American culture. Being immersed, we fail to notice what forces feed our culture and how those forces are directed. It just is. That culture is the sum total of ways of living and thinking built up by groups controlling its transmission over time and over generations.
Who has that control and what are they doing with it?
