Since George Floyd was murdered, we have seen an increasing convergence of the “war at home” against black and brown people with the “wars abroad” that the U.S. has waged against people in other countries.
Two seemingly unrelated items hit social media recently and both received a lot of attention. The first was an article by Peter Beinart that was published in the New York Times where Beinart claims he no longer believes in a Jewish State and calls for a binational state with equal rights in Palestine.
We’re told that institutional ‘bias reduction’ training and ‘diversity’ hiring policies are meant to create an inclusive environment which values and respects minorities. Certainly, Silicon Valley believes it is leading the world in advancing such values. Upon closer inspection, the opposite seems to be the case. Diversity training and hiring practices do not extinguish prejudice – they actually promote it.
