A few days ago, the Wall Street Journal reported that "in 2015 a prominent Russian opposition activist named Vladimir Kara-Murza [who was also a long-time Journal writer] inexplicably suffered multiple organ failure and barely survived after falling into a coma for nearly a week. On Thursday it happened to him again, in much the same way.

The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, had his first phone meeting with President Donald Trump after his inauguration in January and now it looks like the ground work is being laid for the first face to face meeting with Trump in person, perhaps in Slovenia.

In a summary release of a phone call between Russian President and German Chancellor from Saturday February 7th, Vladimir Putin stressed that ‘Kiev officials are trying to sabotage the execution of the Minsk Agreements and use the Normandy format to conceal their destructive acts.’
This phone call comes after a recent flare up in violence near Avdeevka in eastern Ukraine.
