President Putin’s Meeting With RDIF International Advisory Board and International Investment Community Leaders

Vladimir Putin met with members of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) International Advisory Board and representatives of the international investment community. The meeting was held in a working lunch format.
This year the meeting was attended by representatives from investment funds from Germany, France, Japan, China, South Korea, India, Italy, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. A total of more than 40 international investors were invited to a conversation with the Russian leader, who, generally speaking, manage over $15 trillion.

A recent newspiece on OrthoChristian.com, the representative news site of the Moscow Patriarchate, reported that “Patriarch” Philaret Denisenko, the decades-long leader of the “Kyiv Patriarchate” of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, refused to sign a document pledging fealty to the statutes of the newly formed “Church” structure presently known as the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU).

Russia Wins Sixth Straight Game in World Championship Ice Hockey Play

Russia has now won six straight games and is currently leading Group B of the International Ice Hockey Federation’s (IIHF) World Championship tournament, after shutting out Switzerland 3-0 on Sunday in Bratislava, Slovakia.
According to the IIHF’s standings, Russia is the overall points leader and has allowed the least number of goals, three, of any team in the tournament to date. Finland leads Group A and is second to Russia in overall points with 17.

Washington Needs New Mindset for a US-Russia Reset

As the old saying goes, it’s good to talk. US Secretary Mike Pompeo was cordially received this week by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.
Pompeo spoke of repairing the frayed bilateral relations and of finding “common ground” between the US and Russia on a range of pressing international issues. President Putin also said he aspired for much better relations between the two countries, and pointed out that the world’s biggest nuclear powers have an onerous obligation to cooperate.
