Award-Winning Colorado Cop Receives Probation for Felony Where He had Sex with Kidnapping Victim

An award-winning Colorado cop who had sex with a kidnapping victim while investigating her case, then lied about it, claiming she was stalking him when text messages proved he was a willing participant, was sentenced to probation this week.
Paul Patton, who resigned from the Colorado Springs Police Department in October, could have received up to six years in prison for the felony charge of attempting to influence a public servant.

Houston Police Officer Pleads Guilty to Assisting $4 Million Armored Truck Robbery

This week a Houston police officer pleaded guilty to his involvement in a 2013 armored truck robbery that garnered $4 million.
In exchange for being paid by the gun-wielding assailants, officer Joel Quezada monitored police radios and communications during the robbery while he simultaneously tipped off the robbers. Although Quezada wasn’t physically at the scene, he played the role of the “inside man.”

Once again, a New York City police officer was exposed as a liar by surveillance video.
This time, it was an undercover NYPD named Winston McDonald, a 2012 “Cop of the Month” recipient, who claimed four men tried to mug him at knifepoint outside a Brooklyn hardware store last month.
The suspects, however, claim the cop approached them inside a hardware store, flashing money, looking to buy drugs.

An award-winning Las Vegas cop who lost his job last year after his body cam showed him attacking a woman suspected of prostitution is now facing federal charges.
The video has not been released but it federal investigators says it shows Richard Scavone handcuffing the woman before grabbing her around the neck and throwing her to the ground, then striking her in the forehead with an open palm and slamming her face against the hood of his car multiple times on January 6, 2015.

New Jersey Cop Who Killed Two Friends in Drunk Driving Crash Had History of Drunk Driving Arrests, but No History of Departmental Discipline

A New Jersey cop who killed two buddies, including a fellow cop, in a drunk driving crash last year had been arrested twice before on drunk driving charges, but his department never felt the need to discipline him.

High school student Evan Stone took a stand for his Constitutional rights despite his assistant principal objecting and threatening a 5-day suspension.
The incident took place at Massaponax High School in Fredericksburg, Virginia last month.
Stone was in the assistant principal’s office for an alleged talking violation; in order to have proof of what was said, Stone decided to audio record his conversation with the assistant principal.

LAPD Chief Seeking Criminal Charges Against Cop Who Killed Homeless Man

Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck is asking prosecutors to file charges against an LAPD officer who shot and killed a homeless man last May.
The cop, Clifford Proctor, claims the homeless man, Brandon Glenn, tried to take his gun and his partner’s gun, which is usually all it takes to justify a police shooting.
But Beck has viewed a surveillance video that does not show that.
