Here we go again. There seems to be no end to the escalation of tensions between North Korea and the United States and its allies.
(ANTIMEDIA) — A new survey published by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) suggests Americans are willing to make a first nuclear strike against Iran and kill millions of civilians in the process.
Continuing to ratchet up the rhetoric on North Korea, President Trump once again disavowed assurances from his cabinet that the goal is a diplomatic solution, declaring yesterday that “talking is not the answer” and claiming the US has been “paying them extortion money for 25 years.”

In an unusually pointed statement on the ongoing fear of a US attack on North Korea, South Korean President Moon Jae-in gave a speech insisting that he has absolute right to veto any US military action against North Korea, and intends to do so.

There’s something very strange and disturbing about the hype around the White House and US media’s latest obsession with North Korea. It’s not just the usual war-mongering and hot air though. We’ve seen all that before. This goes beyond sabre-rattling. There’s something uncomfortably bipartisan about this new appetite for war.

Like some demonic Hollywood director, President Trump keeps finding new ways to make us jump out of our seats, just when we think we’ve seen everything. On Tuesday, he outdid himself by twice pledging to meet any further North Korean threats to the United States “with fire and fury like the world has never seen.”
