It is not a signatory to the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and its arsenal has never been inspected by any international agency. But this nation is not Iran. It's Israel.

An apparent airstrike in the Homs / Aleppo area of Syria took place in the late evening hours of Saturday, 29 April. Videos shot of the explosions feature some large ones, and one in particular that seems to be very large and has many secondary flares. One can see that these look rather like the fireworks that sparkle and flash for many seconds after the initial detonation. This type of explosion is consistent with a munitions dump getting hit, with the munitions themselves exploding after being struck.

This week the world saw a potential breakthrough in resolving the long-running crisis on the Korean Peninsula. For the first time in years the leaders of both North and the South, Kim Jong-un and Moon Jae-in, met at their shared border’s DMZ and started the process towards denuclearization of the peninsula.

This weekend North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced he will ‘suspend’ his nuclear and missile tests with immediate effect and will shut down his main nuclear testing site.
The announcement came one week before Kim is set to meet South Korean President Moon Jae-in in advance of next month’s much-anticipated summit with President Trump.

On March 8, 2018, a group of US Senators – all liberals – signed onto a letter drafted to the US Secretary of State urging the Trump Administration to begin new talks with the Russian Federation about the state of affairs between the two countries regarding nuclear weapons without delay.

This week, Russian President Vladimir Putin sat down with NBC presenter Megyn Kelly where he blames the US for starting a new arms race beginning when George W. Bush pulled out of the landmark 1972 Anti-Ballistic Missile (ABM) Treaty on June 13, 2002.

During this week’s UN Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov revealed to delegates that the US has been training Europeans on how to use ‘tactical nukes’ in the field of battle, with the intent of using those weapons against Russia.

Just 17 days ahead of a presidential election which he is very likely to win, Vladimir Putin unveiled a number of advanced super-weapons during his state of the nation before the Federal Assembly late Wednesday.
The new weapons include a nuclear-powered cruise missile, supersonic weapons capable of breaching NATO defenses and rockets capable of flying below radar which he said were invincible against current anti-missile defense systems deployed by the West.

The US Nuclear Posture Review (NPR), a key nuclear strategy document that was issued on February 2nd by US Secretary of Defense James Mattis, seems to have benefited from last-minute changes that had been made to it.
