Albuquerque Police Shoot Carjacking Victim for her Safety

Watching a man carjack a woman as they were chasing him Friday, Albuquerque police opened fire, striking both the suspect and the victim.
It was all done in the name of safety.
Both the victim and suspect survived the shooting, ending up with bullet wounds to their legs.
At first, Albuquerque police acknowledged the victim was shot, but refused to admit they did it.
But today, police confirmed that they were the ones who shot the victim.

WATCH: New Mexico Cops Exchange Fist Bumps After Smothering Man to Death

New Mexico cops from three agencies were smothering a mentally ill handcuffed man with their body weight as he repeatedly told them he could not breathe, only for them to keep asking for his date of birth, never once acknowledging they could possibly be killing him.
“I’m dying,” Anthony C de Baca groaned, but the cops ignored him as they made small talk while planting their knees on his back and forcing his handcuffed hands down into his wrists in a pain compliance tactic known as the wristlock.

Albuquerque Cop Trial Results in Mistrial in Shooting Death of Homeless Man

Three jurors voted to convict two Albuquerque cops on second-degree murder charges today in the shooting death of a mentally ill homeless man.
But nine jurors voted to acquit the cops, resulting in a mistrial.
Now it’s up to Special Prosecutor Randi McGinn to determine whether to retry Keith Sandy and Dominique Perez for the shooting death of James Boyd in 2014.
Judge Alisa Hadfield declared a mistrial Tuesday after three days of deliberations when it became evident that none of the jurors were going to change their minds.

New Mexico Cop Caught on Own Body Camera Stealing Marijuana from Police Station

New Mexico cops are renowned for not having their body cameras turned on when they kill citizens, but here’s a cop who forgot to turn his body camera off as he stole marijuana from his police station to give to his girlfriend.
That video led to the arrest of Grants police officer Rosier McKinney last week.
McKinney is also accused of stealing eight ounces of marijuana and $785 in cash that were supposed to go into an evidence locker.
But it was the body cam footage that sparked an investigation last month that led to the other allegations.

Watch: New Mexico Cops Shoot and Kill Man Claiming he “Lunged” at them with Huge Knife

New Mexico cops shot and killed a man after they claimed he “lunged” at them with a knife Sunday afternoon.
But a video recorded by a witness does not really show a man lunging towards police on a median surrounded by traffic in Las Cruces.
However, the video is recorded from a distance, so I’ll let you be the judge on that.
What you will see is cops surrounding a man, then a volley of gunfire as a car drives in front of the camera, then the man is down on the ground.

No DNA or Fingerprints on Gun Used to Justify New Mexico Police Shooting Death of 19-year-old Woman

Albuquerque police officer Jeremy Dear – whose body camera was unplugged when he killed a woman in 2014 – claimed he was in fear for his life because she had pointed a gun at him.
Now newly surfaced evidence shows Mary Hawkes’ fingerprints or DNA was never on the gun, which Albuquerque police knew all along.
But they had justified the shooting because they said they had traced the gun to a man who once exchanged Facebook messages with the woman.

Watch: Albuquerque Jail Guards Torture Woman for Posters in Cell

It all started when Sergeant Eric Allen found posters on the walls of inmate Susie Chavez’s jail cell inside Metropolitan Detention Center in Bernalillo County, New Mexico.
A disturbing video released Wednesday shows Allen, who is in charge of training other jailers on use-of-force, instructing another guard to put Chavez in a wrist-lock because she wouldn’t be quiet.
The video also shows the guards tasering her for asking for one of their names. And then macing her for crying from being tasered.
