The general conception of U.S. politics is that Hillary represents “liberalism,” while someone like Bush or Buckley represented “conservatism.” However, the “conservatism” of the University of Chicago, known as neoconservatism, is anything but.
(ANTIMEDIA) The transformation is complete. Hillary Clinton has gone full neocon. We always knew she was. Anyone who’s paid attention to her foreign policy votes as a senator or her actions as a secretary of state knows she is the liberal analog of George W. Bush.
It is a truism American voters are far more interested in domestic issues during a presidential election. And this suits the foreign policy establishment just fine. Since the Cold War there has been a narrowing of foreign policy debate. Does this explain why Washington blunders from one fiasco to another?
We are joined once again by our good friend Robbie Martin to discuss the final part of the film trilogy “A Very Heavy Agenda.” Robbie and I begin by discussing the film series as a whole, and its overarching themes. We then move on to how the neocons operate within the larger deep-state apparatus, touching on how the neocons are able to influence and control the foreign policy agenda through the use of only a handful of experts and policy makers.
