Déjà vu 2016: like the surprise election result, President Trump claims another victory over the mainstream media machine and Washington’s political elites – this time laying to rest a two and half year-long political charade and festival of fake news which came to be known as ‘RussiaGate’.

After 2 years of investigations, Robert Mueller’s epic tome has finally been turned in, and surprise, surprise – it contains no ‘Trump-Russia Collusion’. We unpack some of the main points of the report and how the media  are in meltdown now that the biggest political hoax in US history has finally run aground.

This is not the end of Trump's problems as federal and state prosecutors are pursuing other investigations that grew out of Mueller's probe. The new investigations focus on Trump, his family business, his advisors and associates, and will not be limited to "Russian collusion".

The master plot went something like this: the Russian government interfered in the 2016 U.S. presidential election with the goal of getting Donald Trump elected. After tens of millions spent, hundreds of interviews, and hundreds of thousands of documents produced – the disgraced former FBI director Robert Mueller could not manage to produce any evidence of ‘Trump-Russia Collusion’ – which was the original remit of his epic witch hunt. As failures go, this one is hard to top.

Stone is charged with obstruction of proceedings, witness tampering, and lying to Congress. None of these relate to collusion with Russia. Stone has been investigated and harassed by the Mueller team for two years, forcing him to exhaust his savings on legal defense.

The FBI dispatched a SWAT Team in full body armor along with a CNN camera crew to film the 3am arrest of former Trump advisor Roger Stone at his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
